Blessing Water in Phoenixville

Blessing of French Creek in Phoenixville will take place on Sunday, January 13th at 11:30AM.

Fr. James Badeaux and parishioners of St. Michael Byzantine Catholic parish invite the parishioners of Sts Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic church and pastor Rev. Stepan Bilyk to participate in a blessing of French Creek (Low Bridge on Main St) in Phoenixville, PA. The short blessing service of the creek water will start right after our Sunday Divine Liturgy and will give us a rare opportunity to pray with our brothers and sisters of St Michael's neighboring parish. The Blessing of the Waters is conducted in the church, however in many places throughout the world services are conducted near open bodies of water. As a sign of blessing, as Christ blessed the Jordan, holy water is poured into the body of water. An associated tradition has also been the tossing of a cross into the water. The public is invited.
