Divine Liturgy to be Live-Streamed during USA Clergy Conference in Chicago.

St. Nicholas Eparchy in Chicago is hosting fellow clergy from across the eastern part of the country.  Guests are deacons and priests from the Archeparchy of Philadelphia and the eparchies of Stamford and St. Josaphat in Parma –and their hierarchs.

On the agenda include:

Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 2:15pm the hierarchy and clergy will visit with students of St. Nicholas Cathedral School, Chicago; at 2:45 the entourage will walk to the Ukrainian National Museum to view a special exhibit honoring Metropolitan Sheptytsky, featuring historical items from Ukraine.  This will be followed by a visit to Ss. Volodymyr and Olha Ukrainian Catholic Church.

At 4:00pm, there will be a tour and explanation of St. Nicholas Cathedral, Chicago. 

At 5:00pm there will be a Divine Liturgy at St. Nicholas Cathedral, Chicago.  This is a unique opportunity to pray with approximately 170 priests and deacons of the Ukrainian Catholic Church all together in one place.  The Divine Liturgy will be sung in all its fullness by our clergymen.  The celebrants will be: Metropolitan Stefan and the eparchial bishops, and clergy.   This is an opportunity to join in the edifying prayer of so many united to our Heavenly Father through the one priesthood of Jesus Christ, endowed with the Gift of the Holy Spirit.

LUC Convention 2015

The League of Ukrainian Catholics (LUC) 2015 Convention was held October 16-18, 2015 in Pennsylvania. This video is from the Divine Liturgy on October 18, 2015 at Presentation of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in Lansdale, PA. The homilist was Metropolitan-Archbishop Stefan Soroka who spoke about the Parable of the Sower and the Seeds. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy the LUC Officers recited an Oath of Dedication. Archbishop Soroka to Celebrate Liturgy during K. of C. Convention; Wednesday, August 5 Divine Liturgy will be Televised Live on EWTN

 

PHILADELPHIA, PA.--On Wednesday, August 5, 2015, the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom will be celebrated at the Pennsylvania Convention Center here during the 133^rd Supreme Convention of the Knights of Columbus.  The Divine Liturgy will be televised live on EWTN beginning at 8 a.m.

 

Metropolitan-Archbishop Stefan Soroka, head of the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia and spiritual leader of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in the United States will be the main celebrant and homilist at the Divine Liturgy.  Concelebrating clergy will include over 100 cardinals, archbishops and bishops, and 125 priests and deacons.

 

Responses to the Divine Liturgy will be sung by the choir of the Ukrainian Catholic National Shrine of the Holy Family, Washington, D.C. under the direction of co-directors Stepan Szyszka & Oksana Lassowsky.

 

Members of the Knights of Columbus and their families will also have an opportunity to visit the golden-domed Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Monday, August 3, as part of a tour of religious sites in the Philadelphia area.

 

It is anticipated that 3000 members of the Knights of Columbus, together with their families, from all over the world, will attend this annual gathering of this international fraternal organization in the City of Brotherly Love.

 

Host for the convention is the Pennsylvania State Council of the Knights of Columbus.

Митрополит Архиєпископ Стефан Сорока, Глава Української Католицької Архиєпархії Філадельфії та духовний провідник українців католиків у Сполучених Штатах буде головним служителем та проповідником на Божественній Літургії.  Співслужачим духовенством стануть 100 кардиналів, архиєпископів та єпископів, та 125 священиків та дияконів.

 

Співати на Божественній Літургії буде  хор Українського  Католицького Крайового Собору Пресвятої Родини в Вашингтоні, ОК, під проводом Стефана Шишки та Оксани Ласовської.

 

У понеділок, 3 серпня, в під час екскурсії релігійними місцями Філадельфії та околиць Лицарі Колумба та члени їхніх родин зможуть оглянути золотоверху українську католицьку Катедру Непорочного Зачаття. 

 

Очікується, що участь у цій щорічній  зустрічі міжнародної братерської організації в місті Братньої Любові візьмуть 3 тисячі Лицарів Колумба та членів їхніх родин з  усього світу.

 

Господарем проведення Конвенції  є Пенсильванська Рада Лицарів Колумба.

Healing Service at Cathedral in Philadelphia

This is a video of the Healing Service at the Moleben in honor of Blessed Bishop Martyr Mykola Charnetsky, CSsR, "The Healer of Souls".  The Moleben Service was held under the Golden Dome Cathedral of the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Philadelphia, PA on March 22, 2015.  Main Celebrants were Metropolitan Archbishop Stefan Soroka and Bishop John Bura.  During the Healing Service, the faithful venerated the icon and relic of Blessed Bishop Martyr Mykola Charnetsky, CSsR then they were annointed with oil by the Bishop and six priests.
