Philadelphia commemorates 25th anniversary of Chornobyl at the Cathedral
The Ukrainian community of the Greater Philadelphia area, in solidarity with and support from the local Japanese community, commemorated the 25th anniversary of the Chornobyl nuclear catastrophe on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 7:00 pm at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception located at 830 North Franklin Street, Philadelphia PA 19123. All proceeds raised during the commemorative concert that featured Ukrainian choirs and a performance by the Japanese-American community were designated for victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
